How To Guide

Preparation

Clean flooring and wall – Remove all surface laitance, contaminants,  and any weak or loose materials.

Installation

Measure length of wall to cover to determine cuts. Coving comes in 3m lengths. Anything shorter is to be measured and cut to size.

How to cut: either by drop saw (power)  or coping saw (hand tool)

Corners: For any corners, use the mitre box to determine the internal and external angles.

Before fixing with Instatape or Instaglue, wipe the rear and underside of Instacove™ with Xylene (sourced from Bunnings) to remove any dirt and contaminants.

Apply Instatape or Instaglue to back of the coving back and base

If using Instaglue, place Instacove™ in installed position and press firmly.

If using Instatape, place Instacove™ in installed position, remove backing tape and press firmly.

Tips:

Leave a small (eg 3mm) gap between joins of corners and lengths and fill with Instaglue. Apply a small bead to top and bottom to achieve a complete seal. Smooth off excessive Instaglue with cloth and soapy water.
